ThotStream
No likes. No followers. No profiles. Just thoughts.
We launched ThotStream a few days ago - it’s an anonymous, ambient social experience designed for calm reflection.
It hit #16 of the day, got 1,000 users from 81 countries in just 3 days, and received amazing feedback. But… I didn’t expect infra costs to hit $20/day, and I couldn't keep up. The app is currently offline 💔
I’m working to bring it back up ASAP. To do that, I’ve set up:
- ☕ A Buy Me a Coffee page for anyone who wants to support even $1
- 💬 And I’m open to a micro-investor or indie backer — willing to offer small equity.
If you or someone you know believes in building calmer, kinder social spaces, I’d love to talk.
Thanks to everyone who tried it, shared it, or encouraged me. I’m not giving up ✊

Hey Indie Hackers! 👋
I just launched ThotStream, a new kind of ambient social experience for quiet reflection and meaningful connection — without the noise of likes, followers, or profiles.
🧠 What it is:
ThotStream is a live, anonymous thought map where you can:
✍️ Post your thoughts anonymously
🌍 Explore a globe of real-time thought origins
💬 Reply anonymously before thoughts vanish in 24 hours
🧠 Let AI tag thoughts with emotion & topic
🎭 Filter thoughts by mood or topic
🌐 Translate thoughts instantly
🛡️ AI-moderated: no hate, spam, or abuse
It’s like a global campfire for anonymous, fleeting moments of honesty.
🔧 Why I built it:
I wanted a space on the internet that felt calm, human, and unfiltered — no algorithmic dopamine traps or vanity metrics. Just thoughts, flowing anonymously across the world.
🛠 Built With:
Frontend: React + Tailwind
Backend: Node.js + WebSockets
AI: Custom tagging + moderation models
This started as an experiment in digital calm, and quickly became one of the most surreal places on the internet.
Would love your thoughts, feedback, and ideas 🙏
And if you try it out, drop your location dot on the globe 🌏
