October 9, 2019 Relaunch!

After seven highly engaging posts about seven books, I stopped creating content for the page as I began a new project. But the account kept growing.

Now, at almost 1,000 followers and good feedback about what I was doing, I'm planning on retaking the project and creating a website for it. For this I have set three rules for myself so I won't drop the project once again.

Rules for myself:

  1. Constant: no matter what other projects and work I have going on I will commit to bring out consistent content and keep on building the community. But to do this I must follow rule number two

  2. Keep it simple: in order to follow rule number one, I have to keep things simple. Meaning that the content must be fast and easy to produce. Instead of spending a week for one book I will now try to spend a maximum of 10-12 hours for a book post.

  3. High quality: high-quality content is very relative. So instead of trying to make new fancy animations, I will keep the visuals minimal, clean, and consistent. Focusing on the end goal of helping people discover new reads and obtaining fast insights.

This is a really nice instagram account! Are you planning to just slowly maintain it as a side project, or try to grow it into something bigger? And if this is just a small side project (as it seems to be), what's your main project?

      Thank you so much!

Eventually I would want for this to be how I spend most of my time and my main source of income, but I’m in no rush. For now I just want this to be a nice hobby that pays enough for me to maintain it and buy books from.

Currently, I work as a freelance creating videos and animations. Additionally, I’m in the early stage process of a payments app with two friends.

Curious about how you plan to get money from it. Affiliate links for books?

I'm planning on testing different models:

          1. Affiliate links for books
          2. Partner program with apps like Blinkist
          3. Partnership with publishers and authors
          4. Membership

          What do you think?

Affiliates and partnerships sound reasonable to me. Not sure what a membership would look like.

Yea, I’ll be updating on my progress and setting some milestones soon! Thanks again for your support :D

March 28, 2019 Launched on Instagram

On this day I officially launched the Instagram page for Thought Books. There are several reasons why I chose Instagram as my primary platform:

  • I am a video creator and wanted to improve my animation skills

  • There are plenty of book videos on YouTube and though IG could be a new and interesting opportunity for this type of content

  • Most importantly I wanted the content to be bite-sized and easy to digest.

December 27, 2018 Came up with my idea

While traveling through the south of Spain and reading Yuval's latest book, 21 Lessons For The 21st Century I had the sudden urge to share all the knowledge and insights with other people. Beyond my friends and family at the very least.

By doing so perhaps I would be able to have more interesting conversations, come up with new ideas to solve interesting problems and understand the world better. Where we are and where we are going.
