February 10, 2026 I tracked time in Excel for 15 years. Then I built my own app.

I'm a developer who's been tracking time in Excel for 15 years. It worked, but it was tedious.

I tried Toggl, Clockify, and others - all built for teams and billing. Too much complexity for someone who just wants to know "where did my day go?"

With AI tools now available, I finally built the app I always imagined: TickTappy.

- One tap to start, one tap to stop

- Color-coded tags for projects

- Clean weekly overview

- Native on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and web

- Apple Watch app and iOS widgets

No mandatory fields, no dashboards, no team features.

Business model: Free core features, premium for cross-device sync. No ads, no data selling.

Would love feedback — what would make you actually stick with a time tracker?

About

I tracked my time in Excel for 15 years as a developer. Every time tracking app I tried was built for teams and companies - too many features, too much friction. I just wanted to know where my time goes.
