Heads-up display for your desk
The pandemic was a long-haul for our business.
First our manufacturing process got thrown for a loop when coronavirus first emerged in China. Right when that was calming down, things started getting bad in New York and our workshop had to close down for a while.
We used the time to work on our firmware, software, and design. And we finally shipped a small batch of devices to our first customers!

The pandemic also decimated subway ridership, which was part of the core use case of Tidbyt. We used the opportunity to make the product more versatile, so it can do things like weather, time, stocks, and more.
We switched to walnut hardwood for the Tidbyt's enclosure, and put together a prototype that closely resembles what the final product will look like:

Got our first, proof-of-concept prototype. I built using my shop at home, out of plywood and off-the-shelf components.
It's not pretty, but it gets the job done:

The whole morning, I'd be pulling my phone out to check how long I had to catch the next train. I figured, why not just have a screen on the shelf that would just show when the next train was coming?
I actually looked around and found a similar product, but the company failed to launch. So I ordered some stuff off Amazon to try to build my own DIY version.
