Online tarot card reading
After weeks of research, repetitive email drafting and sending and getting nearly no response whatsoever, I finally found another Tarot website with higher DA which accepted my article, started circulating it in their networks and published do follow links. Success!!! I guest the main takeaway is KEEP GOING, stick with the problem for long enough and you will eventually succeed. It's not the end of the SEO journey though but it's definitely the first step in the right direction. It can be replicated again and gain.
The most difficult part, in my experience so far, is not building an app but to make sure it is visible by the right audience. I am about to embark on a SEO keyword research and to join all the relevant online communities I can possible be allowed to share the word about TimelyTarot. Let's see how it goes. More about it later.

Tactics we took that costed us time instead of money are... we invested into our blog (zenpost.com/blog) and distributed that content on social. Strategic partnerships / relationships. Those usually come with referrals. Cold outreach via email. Guest posts / podcasts. Hope that helps!

Try to turn it around. When you are having a conversation with a prospect, what are they asking you? What are the problems they are looking to solve? If you write content around those two questions it will be highly specific and relevant, it will get traction in communities and get shared.

I have recently introduced a post sale feedback process, asking about my customers' experience and whether they found using the website easy or not. I also started asking on forums what issues or questions people have in my niche market, plus I did a keyword research to tap into the search intent. But I have not done any direct conversation with my prospects... I need to find the right channel to do it.

any tips? I read a few articles on how to improve SEO - it seems that, apart from on page SEO, the only feasible way is to establish a robust backlink process - essentially guest posting and whatnot. Get a list of sites that are in the same or similar niche, message them offering to guest post and wait. But this is such a tedious process and 99% of them never get back to you... The bit that worked so far is social media posting and participation ion forums and Q&As like Quora - but these require constant manual posting unlise SEO.

Yes, that is the case I am afraid. Incredibly tedious and boring task. I also hate touting myself as an 'expert' in a field and writing blogs.
I would say if the later is working for you - double down on that. Once you have an audience or following - perhaps the backlinks will come more easily to you then?

Thanks @tristan_adlington this page has been bookmarked. I have blocked regular hours in my calendar to work on content marketing and SEO - my aim is to develop a discipline, a habit and stop doing the work for TimelyTarot on an ad-hoc.

It was not me, who came up with the idea of having an online tarot reading website. It was my wife, who at the time was on maternity leave looking after our kids. She wanted to have some income working from home and having studied tarot and practiced it for a number of years, it was the first thing that came to her mind. I googled "online tarot" and found tons of sites. But to my suprise the vast majority of them were awful, outdated design and poor UX, loading very slow and not offering a true online tarot card experience. We decided to give it a try, after all I knew a bit of code and the risk was very low (losing only time and a bit of cash on hosting the whole thing) and we wanted to keep the site very simple at the start. Here is how TimelyTarot came to light.
