January 10, 2020 Launched new feature - toolkit for managing time

http://tools.timewise.how/

I have been personally curating these tools for some time in my notes and also used many of them in 2019 to try and become better

I even used some extreme steps like completely giving up on smartphones and used a Nokia 3300 feature phone for 5 months! :D The toolkit is a curated list of all the tools I used, and the practices and tips that worked for me.

2019 was a great year for me on becoming more productive and hope this helps others too!

December 17, 2019 Made first $ (buymeacoffee donations)

Postmortem of https://timewise.how launch
🎉 ~ 350 signed up users
🚀 4209 visitors
💸 5 users donated 39$ in total

This was great fun! I am now doing a deep dive into other problems around running teams, productivity and scheduling. Need to figure out the holy grail of recurring revenue - of course donations arent doable

December 11, 2019 Hit 300+ users
  • A lot of sustained traffic from PH and hackernews launch
  • Maintaining old relationships is very important! I personally got in touch with 100+ old contacts and said hi hello to them without any agenda.. it gave me a little FOMO that I know so many amazing people in my life but I dont stay in touch with them

November 27, 2019 Launched on producthunt!
  • The final 2% polishing takes 20% of the effort! So much goes into figuring out the edge cases and stuff. And it can be a little defeating to worry about the small details, but thats what count!

  • Its important to stay in touch with friends and your network, otherwise just spamming people on launch day makes you look like an ass!

When you say "stay in touch with friends and your network", do you mean keeping them up-to-date on the progress you've made so far with the product?

Well kinda - but not just transactional stuff like product updates. But regularly saying hi-hello, actively helping out etc. Build the karma ..

        Ahhh, that makes sense. Thanks!

November 16, 2019 First 10 signups!
  • Sent it to a few slack channels I was part of

Learnings

  • Launch faster is a big learning
  • Making an app work on local vs production are two different beasts :D
  • Remember to always take care of edge cases
  • I need to train my "launch" muscle.. delayed it for a few extra days without any reason. Just wasted time adding non essentials like favicons and other stuff

    Congratulations!

I also have a product for productivity of meetings (focusing on the action items.)

I could use those Slack groups myself :)

Hi! Done now - sorry for the delay. Slack invite process is weird, looks like admins have to approve my invitation so expect further delay

November 11, 2019 Finished MVP version
  • learned coding on my own over few months!

  • tried to solve my own problem; I did calendar analysis every few weeks to see where my time was going!

  • interviewed a few other managers at tech startups to see if they have same problems

  • built something over the weekend, shared it with friends, and then took the next 10 days evenings to sort out the bugs!
