Find your best dating photos
After 10 days of free beta testing, we switched to freemium to test pricing.
To get some traffic, we paid $10 on Google Ads. We got 130 clicks, and one of them became our first user!
He uploaded 7 pictures, saw the free preview-report, and then he purchased the full-report.
Happy to share this important milestone!
Now, let's reduce the CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost) ;]

(Product 1 line: Find your best dating photos)
Last year I spent many many hours trying things around AI, serverless, business models and dating. I had the idea, but I was missing something super important: a good partner to design the product and to create a brand around it.
I failed twice to find a partner, but finally, in late 2019 I found a rock start, a really good one.
After a few months investigating and iterating over the product, we're really excited to announce that the free beta is available right now.
Your feedback matters! Please, take a moment to try it and share your feedback with us.

After 15h+ of work, the web is almost ready. You select multiple pictures from your device and the AI tells you what are the best photos for your profile.
What do you think is the best way to monetize the product?
- a) Web, free. Monetize with ads.
- b) Web, pay-per-use.
- c) A mobile app, once store purchase.
- e) A mobile app, in-app pay-per-use.

Thank you!

Maybe a good question for this is who do you see using the app?
I know tinder has all sorts of one time payment "boosting" features for an hour or something, but more serious daters pay monthly for a more premium service on other sites .
If your users are more of the boosting type, maybe it makes sense to do dollars for credits or something, and the latter a $/mo (churn seems inevitable here). Seems like an interesting experiment. It would be a sick upsell to productize people on fiverr who do photo retouching and "fix" the photos people upload to crank the value of that main portrait picture. First impressions matter!
Awesome idea- good luck!

Great feedback Matthew!
Do a monthly subscription make sense? How often a Tinder user change his profile pictures?
-

For me personally, this feels too transactional to be a monthly thing- it would need to provide more value to warrant paying over multiple months.
Really good question about the changing of the photo...aside from when the customer onboards to the site, I wonder if there is a another key time you could approach to acquire them knowing that they are trying to optimize their profile. Time to talk to users and gather some data!

I haven't been on Tinder for a while, but don't they optimise your image order anyway (based on engagement in the app)? Mind me asking what value you add on top of that?

Yes, they do, but I think they just put the best picture the first. Imagine you have 20 pictures but you don't know which are the 4 best pictures. Does that make sense?
Thank you very much for the feedback.

How about an API where you upload a number of photos and it returns the photo that is "the best"? I can see this being a tool that A/B-testing tools could incorporate, or content creators to see which image is better to share on social media.
You could charge that per-request.
In any other case, I would vote for a web application, pay-per-use. Maybe a multi-tiered subscription model. $20/month with 200/2000 images-to-be-analyzed included. $5 for 2000 more. Something like that.
Who is your audience for this? Tinder users only?

Wow, I've never thought about B2B. Good catch!
I could reuse the stack, but not the core algorithm (the AI). To find "the best pictures" for dating is a different problem than to find "the best" picture for social media, which is a more complex problem, right? For example: showing sunglasses is good or bad on social media? It depends...
And yes, Tinder, Bumble, OkCupid, etc this is my audience.
Do the people change their profiles pictures so often to subscribe monthly?
Thks Arvid!

Is the range of functionality there to allow you to have a 'free' and 'premium' model? So the Premium model provides access to more functionality?
Or you could allow x amount of free searches and then after that the user has to pay for more?-
1
Yeah, that sounds great!
Free to analyze up to 6 images and 5$ for more than 6 images.

Yiha! After three days of work, I have a prototype. It validates that the state of the art in AI is ready for the idea!
So now, while I continue working on the backend and frontend, I would like to find a designer to help me with the web.
Let me explain the product.
Product briefing
Selecting profile pictures for Tinder (or Bumble, OkCupid, etc.) can be hard. This tool will help you by choosing your best pictures for you.
Customer journey (can be modified)
- The user arrives at the website.
- The user selects multiple pictures from the phone/PC. No signup or login.
- The user introduces the payment method.
- The user push "Analyze" or "Send" or whatever.
- After a few seconds, the user sees 3 sections: a) "Our selection", a list of pictures you should use in your tinder account, b) "Don't use", a list of discarded pictures with reasons and c) "Opportunities", a list of advises to upload better pictures
- (optional) The user sends again a bunch of pictures and starts again.
What I need:
Branding
Feel free to give the product an identity: image, personality, communication, ...
UI+UX+Copies (Pages)
- Landing page: product presentation + call to action.
- Loading page.
- Results page: 3 sections + call to action.
If you are interested, please ping me and send me your portfolio! :)
Thank you very much!

Hey Javidalpe
https://keesyb.myportfolio.com/work
Talking with a friend about his Tinder experience, we realized how important are profile pictures.
After searching on the Internet about picture tips, I thought I could build a simple app to identify and fix common problems that affect your profile reputation. Using AI to automate the process.
