A Todo List app for folks with wandering minds

October 23, 2023 Queue Mode vs Focus Mode

I used to log my daily and weekly tasks in a notepad app. I could not find an app that supported the way I liked to work. This felt a bit silly so I decided to build my own. I've been using it for some time now and it's been a great tool.

As I continued to use with Todo Today, I found myself becoming flustered while looking at my list of tasks. I noticed a pattern in my work approach, which my app was not supporting. I often jump between what I call "queuing mode," where I decide what tasks to tackle, and "focus mode," where I actually dive into the work.

To better accommodate these two modes, I spent a few hours this evening splitting my UI into two parts, as shown in the images linked below. I hope to test them in the coming days and see if I become less flustered in my work.

I am definitely not a #designer here so I would love any and all #feedback!

October 16, 2023 Downloadable App Link with Auto Updating

I've decided to #buildinpublic so here's my first update!

The goal of this past weekend and this evening was to get a download link available for an installer with built in auto updating. This involved a bunch of digging in with electron-builder, electron-notarize, and Apple's developer environment.

These are the resources I found most helpful

October 6, 2023 Initial Release!

Approximately a year and a half ago, my search for a task management application that aligned with my specific needs proved unsuccessful. This prompted me to develop my own app. Since then, I've been using it daily to get work done.

Around a month ago, I made the decision to refine the app and resolve the remaining issues. With refinement complete, I hope to create a landing page to share the application and continue developing features.

About

I have tried a bunch of todo list apps, none of them met my needs so I built my own. I've been using it daily for over a year now and want to share it with others.
