Tools That Just Work
Hey Indie Hackers! 👋
I recently launched Toolifix.com, and I’d love to get your honest feedback.
The Background & Problem: As a developer, I find myself constantly needing small utilities—whether it's formatting a JSON blob, converting a PNG to WebP, or just quickly checking a hash. But every time I Google these tools, I land on sites that are absolute nightmares to use. They are usually slow, riddled with layout-shifting elements, require email signups for "pro" features, or worse—they upload my data to a server just to perform a simple calculation.
I realized I was wasting more time fighting the tools than actually using them.
The Solution: I decided to build Toolifix to be the "clean" alternative I always wanted. It’s a digital Swiss Army Knife designed with a few core principles:
Privacy First: Almost all tools process data client-side in the browser. Your files and code snippets shouldn't leave your machine if they don't have to.
Zero Friction: No logins, no captchas, and no "wait 10 seconds for your download" timers.
Speed: It’s optimized to load instantly so you can get in, do the task, and get out.
What's included so far? I've started with the essentials, including:
Dev Tools: JSON Validator/Formatter, CSS Minifier, URL Encoder/Decoder.
Image Tools: Resizers, Compressors, and Converters.
Text Utilities: Case converters, Word counters, and String manipulation.
Request for Feedback: Since I've been staring at this screen for weeks, I need fresh eyes. I’d love to know:
UX/UI: Does the site feel "snappy" and easy to navigate?
Missing Tools: Is there a specific utility you use daily that is missing from my list? I want to prioritize building what people actually need.
