ToolmetryAI
AI-powered toolkit for developers & creators
"Impressive attention to detail. Really well thought out - covers everything you need and the execution is solid."
Iβve been building ToolmetryAI as a collection of 120+ free AI, SEO, content, and developer tools for creators and indie hackers.
Itβs still early, but feedback like this is helping me understand what to improve next.
Curious to hear from other builders: What tools do you actually use daily that save you time?
Over the last few months, while building Toolmetry (https://toolmetry.pro), I've spent a lot of time studying tool websites across AI, productivity, business, and developer categories.
A few interesting patterns stood out:
1. Simplicity beats features
Most users want to solve one problem and leave. The best-performing tools focus on a single job.
2. Speed matters more than design
A fast-loading tool with a clean UI often outperforms a beautiful but slow product.
3. Search intent is everything
Pages targeting a specific need ("Invoice Generator") usually perform better than broad pages ("Business Tools").
4. Trust signals are underrated
Clear explanations, FAQs, examples, and transparent branding improve engagement far more than most founders expect.
5. Distribution beats perfection
Many successful tools aren't technically superior. They simply do a better job of reaching the right audience.
These observations influenced how we're building Toolmetryβa collection of free online tools for developers, businesses, and creators:

Hey Indie Hackers π
Over the last few months, I've been building Toolmetry β a growing collection of free online tools designed to solve the small but frequent problems developers, marketers, SEO professionals, and founders face every day.
The goal is simple: Instead of jumping between a dozen different websites to get minor tasks done, you have one hub for everything.
What's inside:
β Developer & SEO utilities
β AI-powered helpers
β Text, image, and conversion utilities
β General productivity tools
Current Progress:
β’ 120+ free tools live
β’ Fast, lightweight interface
β’ No sign-up required for most tools
β’ Constantly shipping updates based on user feedback
The Challenge: Distribution
Building the tools is one thing, but getting them in front of the right users is a completely different game. I'm currently experimenting with:
β’ SEO & Backlink building
β’ Community marketing
β’ Creator partnerships
β’ Product directory submissions
My question for the community:
For those of you who have built free or freemium utility products, what growth channel actually moved the needle for you in the early days?
π Check it out here: https://toolmetry.pro
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and learning from the community! π
