ToolZip

I just launched ToolZip (https://toolzip.xyz) — a collection of 35+ free browser-based developer tools.

## The problem

Every time I needed to format JSON, decode a JWT, or test a regex pattern, I'd land on a site that was either:

1. Covered in ads that push the actual tool below the fold

2. Requiring sign-up for basic functionality

3. Sending my data to their servers (I've seen JSON formatters that POST your input to a backend — not great when you're pasting production API responses)

The biggest players in this space — SmallSEOTools, RapidTables, Calculator.net have designs from the 2000s, terrible mobile experience, and zero regard for data privacy.

## What I built

ToolZip is 35+ developer tools across three categories:

**Text Tools** — Word counter with readability score, case converter (camelCase/snake_case/kebab-case + 10 more), lorem ipsum generator, text diff checker, markdown to HTML converter, string encoder/decoder

**Developer Tools** — JSON formatter with tree view + JSONPath query, regex tester with plain-English explanations, UUID/ULID bulk generator, Base64 encoder with image preview, JWT decoder, cron expression builder with visual UI + next 10 run times, hash generator (MD5/SHA-256/SHA-512/HMAC), password generator, QR code generator, JSON to CSV/YAML, SQL formatter, chmod calculator

**Converters** — Color converter (HEX/RGB/HSL/CMYK + WCAG contrast checker), number base converter with step-by-step math, unix timestamp converter, unit converter (70+ units), CSS unit converter (px/rem/em/vh/vw), image format converter (PNG/JPG/WebP/AVIF), CSS gradient generator

Everything is client-side JavaScript. No backend, no database, no API calls. Your data literally cannot leave your browser because there's nowhere for it to go.

## Monetization plan

Starting with Google AdSense, upgrading to Mediavine once I hit 50K monthly sessions (3-4x higher RPM). Ads are placed outside the tool interface — never inside the tool area itself.
