Let's take everything from the beginning. Yes it's my fault that I didn't find specific users that might be interested to try or let's say the 10 people I had on my waiting list didn't reply.

But another problem I am facing with Parlosofy is that it's hard to explain simply and concisely what it does. Which is creating a human opinion database from conversations for your question.

You can basically just say something and see how many people agree with you and have real time social proof.

Now as I was looking for testers I was using:

🔷Facebook:

A lot of niche groups but mainly boomers hanging out which is great because they show interest.

⚠️PWA doesn't open from Facebook 🤦 so annoying! Keep that in mind guys, from messenger it just wasn't opening. Better only collect emails.

🔴 Reddit

I really like Reddit, pity that I constantly get banned 🚫 haha

Yes the people are so nice and it is resourceful and it works nice with subreddits if you get used to it. In the beginning I was not careful, but now the last time I was banned was because I was PMing on the row too many people that were asking for testers, offering them to test their app and give feedback if they do the same for me! But yeah you can't do that apparently.

🟢 WhatsApp groups

That gave me a lot of activity on the analytics! 🥳 Some feedback too!

But it also gave me the copycat problem where I found someone got our trademark in Argentina. 🥲

I really want to do the best I can for Parlosofy. I am thinking to pay a small price for testers. For quality feedback, at least the first ones! 😌

What do you guys think, is it cheating? What should the feedback form questions really look like?

This last week was really tough.

It started when I found out a website in Argentina with same name as our project and similar characteristics. Empty, broad content about AI, some translations and a big letter intellectual property note!

Damn, I felt sad for a bit but.. Good, let's move on now fast. Our name was pretty common anyways but we wanted to test the waters first - a lot - before we commit.

I rebranded and registered everything and will carefully approach for traction. At least my marketing efforts worked. Do you think I can use this website as traction? Did we hit a nerve?

I am now a bit worried about that actually. It can happen that someone will copy something from your work and I can't do much. I just wanted to say coding and marketing is mentioned quite a lot, but protect your work guys, legal stuff is another thing. I didn't know.

Just take care about this before you start sharing too much. I used WhatsApp groups for Spanish speakers and it was working a lot but I risked.

Now we approach differently, do you like our name?

So I had a scheduled call with a lady about this important partnership offer one morning .

English is not my mother language but I never had a problem in communication because I use it on a daily basis many years at work.

The conversation was quite imbalanced with a few minutes introduction each and then straight me pitching for some minutes with a monologue. I was quite confident as I had organised in my head what I wanted to say, so it was clear when I passed a question to her for continuing.

And something happened that never happened to me before, I didn't expect it, but I was having such a hard time to understand what she was saying.

I remember I had a strong feeling of, omg is it the concept of her thoughts or the super fabulous use of language she's doing the reason I struggle to keep up? I remember I was 100% giving all my focus to listening carefully. Holding on to words that I was understanding and connecting them together. She was talking really in official English, no special accent, that was impressive. I kinda felt like neanderthal while she was speaking.

As she continued the sun changed position hitting the screen of my computer and I couldn't see her clearly. I was listening carefully. Keeping down some notes. My time is coming to say something and my legs started shaking under the desk. She was not fully aligned with our vision or our business model.

I said to myself open your mouth:

"What you just said sounds like music to my ears. This kind of feedback is exactly what we need to hear, as we are flexible to adapt to the needs of our partners on this early phase. We believe we are working on a beautiful idea, we want to make it as helpful as possible for the users."

I meant it haha. Got the support letter. 🎉

When I updated her later when we had the MVP ready I was so happy to send her our work! She beautifully roasted me. I had to explain that this was just the MVP. Not the final product.

I am a bit afraid to update her now. But yeah she gave me some great feedback that I am grateful for.

I am really struggling since. Got a few smaller partnerships but no one wants to put their customers or connections testing something not final, right? I get it but come on, please. This wheel needs to roll.

Any tips of how I can pass strategically this line? I was clear to them from the beginning but no one makes the big step of recommending the MVP for testing.

I am not sure how to continue. Keep reaching out to orgs or keep spamming poor people?

I’m working on Totem AI, a social platform that turns language exchange into a shared Q&A chat feed with the help of AI.

How the current MVP works:

• Users post questions that appear on the chat on each person's target language.

• Users reply to the questions for practice, while AI supports the chat flow, corrections & translations.

• The platform delivers summarised answers to these questions in real time for increasing engagement.

I’m Wondering:

Would you be interested to upload questions and see how a group of people or the world would answer them?

Will it be possible to embed picture footage on the app? Users to react to a pic but ai to be able to continue the conversation?

There are millions of people that seem to need a free solution for practicing a language. There are some users already in the MVP but it's really hard to keep them engaged as there is not too much content generated, definitely not in many languages! I am having a hard time to both explain how it works and keep higher engagement.

I would really really appreciate any feedback from you guys.
