September 10, 2021 145 Paying customers

It's not been an easy road these last couple of months, with the pandemic really take a hard blow on fitness businesses that are mostly related to outdoors training.

Hopefully things will be better this last quarter, and we are starting to notice some growth.

This looks like a very useful product! Reaching 30 new customers despite the pandemic is no trivial feat!

Congrats! Hope the growth continues upwards for you

May 25, 2020 115 Paying users

It's not be an easy last couple of months for TrainerPlan due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Being an app that is focused on endurance training and the outdoors, we've suffered a little bit with a Churn increase of about 8%.

We lost a few of our paying users due to the lack of business they were having as well.

Nevertheless we are at 115 paying users right now which is the most we had.

Hopefully the times we are all living will be over soon and businesses can go back to normal.

Did your business suffer from Covid-19 as well?

January 16, 2020 We finally reach the 100 Paying customers

After a hard 4th quarter with churn increasing a bit more than normal. Monthly churn is about 3% on average but went to more than 10% in these last months of 2019.

Also December was not great at new customer acquisitions.

We've been growing slow but steady and on January we've seen an increase in organic growth which led us to reach the mark of 100 paying customers.

Hopefully we'll manage to double down by the end of the year. 🤞

    Hi @fusionPT,

congrats! What was your launching strategy?

Thanks and have a great day,
    David

Basically was word of mouth, blogging and FB Ads.

November 28, 2019 95 paying customers

We've gown in 25 customers since July. Not a huge growth but we also had a few users churning in this timeframe mostly due to end and beginning of sports seasons.

The customer acquisition was mostly organic and a few FB ads now and then.

Hopefully will get to break the 100 paying users psychological barrier by the end of this year.

After spending the last few months iterate and improving exisiting features we finally just crossed the 70 paying customers. 🥳

Next milestone will be to hit the 100 paying customers mark and get to around 2000€ in MRR. It's crazy that just last year it was around 400€ MRR.

What is your ad targeting strategy for FB ads? Does that account for all of your new user acquisition? If not, what are the top customer acquisition channels for you?

    1. 2

I try to target mostly coaches in Spain for now (CTR is higher and cheaper). Not all new users come from there, some came via word of mouth and organic search.

      1. 1

Interesting! On FB, do you purely do location based targeting? That seems really broad. Do you refine with interest-based targeting or any other targeting criteria? How do you end up targeting coaches instead of just everyone?

As for organic search: What kind of strategy did you use to get your pages to rank high in search results? Did you do a lot of work to earn backlinks and build domain authority? Very curious!

        1. 1

I add some interests related to sports and coaching. For organic just blog posts and SEO optimisation.

Well, I've played with pricing before but these seem to be the ones working best. Normally users starting from the lowest tier and upgrade if they like it.

February 19, 2019 50 paying customers

Congrats! I just saw your marketing site. You have some copy in english, some in spanish, and your pricing is in Euros. You could think about unifying this under a common thread (either English or Spanish). Who do you primarily sell to?

    1. 1

Hi Avi, I'm primarily targeting the Spanish market (seems easier to start that way since I am in Spain).

There's a lot to be done in the marketing site in order to make it work properly for English talking visitors (English screenshots and pricing in dollars, etc).

I would love to hear more on how to improve it.

      Thanks.

  2. 2

It is significant step! Keep going !

Felicitaciones amigo, me motiva a continuar mi camino y finalmente emprender.

    Saludos desde Chile.
    Keep it up!

  4. 2

Hey buddy, What methods did you use to get there? Do you have any specific methods you want to share with us?

    1. 1

Nothing fancy, a little bit of cold emailing, social media follows and some facebook ads.

And listening to current customers in order to improve the product.

      1. 1

It sounds interesting. How would you feel if invite you as a guest in my program '10 questions to entrepreneurs' to discuss more about this product from idea to reality?

          1. 1

Perfect. I'll email you with the details.

Cool product, seems like project management for trainers, nice! How do you market this tool?

    1. 1

Hi Thanks. Mainly organic and FB ads.

  6. 1

    Congrats! Site looks great.

Nice site, well done actually! Beautiful and easy to use design. How did you build it, did you hire someone?

In the FAQ section of the pricing page (https://www.trainerplan.co/pricing) the question "Can I have a custom plan based on my needs?" is not answered.

    1. 1

It was all me. Design and code.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll fix that.

      1. 1

        Well done!!! I'm impressed

Really like the site. Can I ask where you got your graphics?

    1. 1

      Thanks. All done by me.

      1. 1

You also did your own graphics? So you're a developer, trainer, and graphics designer * suspicious squint * (no offence intended at all)

        Great job

        1. 2

I'm actually first a designer then a developer and in 3rd place an athlete :)

          1. 1

Perfect. This is so good! Amazing combination!! And then your project combines all three!!!
