The number of visitors we got so far is not overwhelming but the relative number of subscribers and feedback have been great so far! Already working on some of the suggested improvements!
The idea of building something to simplify the routine tasks that come up every time we travel has been floating around in my head for months. I found myself asking the same questions over and over again:
- Do I need a visa?
- Are there any special travel vaccines/medicines recommended for this destination?
- Will my electronic devices work?
- Which clothes should I take with me?
- Is eating out expensive? What about public transportation?
- How much should I tip?
- Which are the top 10 places I should see?
- When does the sun rise/set compared to my home country? If I want to call my family, when is a good time to do so?
Building a MVP was a no-brainer: a first usable version of the website was built on a single weekend and I knew that at least some friends and I would use it!
I got some really useful early feedback from family and friends. Testing and validating demand is the next big step.

Would you be willing to share a bit more about the numbers? I’ve always wondered what sort of traffic is coming from Betalist in the first day after a feature.
Sure! Our numbers are pretty similar to what has been reported here before. Give me 2-3 more days and I will post the stats together with some additional feedback.
