July 20, 2020 Users can download their articles as PDF

I finaly managed to build the last feature I wanted, the ability for a user to download an article as PDF.
It's a little be scary because pretty soon I'll launch Travelogue publicly and I'm not sure what will happen.
Next step: prepare a release plan, search for potential users and invite them to test.
I know I can find a lot of people on Reddit, but I don't know if I want to launch on Product Hunt as well.

June 17, 2020 After almost 3 months

I'm close to something I could share with everyone. The flow is ready (Landpage / Dashboard / Main features) and I'll try to polish every step during the coming weeks.

I also need to prepare myself for the release and find communities that could be interested to use Travelogue.

nice idea! how would you make money? I mean does it have any pro account?

I didn't plan to make money with this website but I'm starting to think about it ^^

All users will be able to save an article in a PDF version (I'm working on this feature right now). What I'm thinking about is to allow "pro account" to create a book with all their articles. I'll try to find a partnership with a printer if I can :)

and maybe you can facilitate every user to add their itinerary, how they traveled a destination and what they like, etc. You can create a travel community around it, which will help other people to interact with the user, not just friends.

May 4, 2020 My first prototype

After two months, I finally have a first prototype. User can log in and write articles. Each article will be display on a personal map.

At this point, it's pretty basic, you can't update your article, you can't delete it, but I can say it's a MVP!

March 24, 2020 My first comit

Travelogue first commit was on April 27th. I wasn't sure if I'll be able to do it but the main goal was to improve my skill in React. What did I have to lose? Nothing but gain experience!

I started to work on the auth system with Firebase. It took me a week to have something perfect for my use case. Slow, right? For an experience developer of course, but I was very proud of my accomplishment

January 1, 2020 The idea of Travelogue

The idea was pretty simple, allow users to write about their travels and share it with friends. I wanted to visualize all the articles in a single worldmap. It was the beginning of Travelogue.
At first it was just an idea as I was not skilled enough to build it!

But I started to learn React/NextJS and Firebase in one goal in mind, make this website!

About

Travelogue is a project that I wanted to make a long time ago without the skills to build a website. Today, I'm able to do it and it's one of my first web dev project, really proud of it!
