Trello Improvements

Version 3.0.0 is out.

Beside some small fixes, it now includes an option to enable Night mode, which overrides Trello UI colours so that you can give your eyes a bit of rest. The new colours are darker and have less contrast, which is what I was going for.

I received some suggestions over the email and in the Trello board, and I'm already working on providing a different way to darken the Trello UI, without making use of many similar grey colours, that make everything a bit hard to read for some people.

The Sticky Cards was by far the most requested feature in my "support" Trello board (https://trello.com/b/4Vgbr5e7/trello-improvements-browser-add-on).

Due to how Trello works and how I've started the whole approach to improving it, it was a tricky thing to do.
I finally did it in a hacky and not ideal way, but at least it is now available and hopefully will be useful to people.
Some limitations exist, I'm aware of them, so this is still a feature in progress.

I have pushed a new Firefox version which will now open TypeForm feedback survey on install or upgrade.

I am now focusing on number of daily users. Number of downloads has surpassed 15k, but what is more important is how many of them use the plugin.

It has reached 2k daily active installations. It's difficult to see how many of those users do you the plugin without adding extra tracking, which I'm not sure I want to do at this stage.

On October 17th I had 270 downloads instead of the usual 5-50. Looks like Mozilla has featured the plugin, as I saw some visits from main addon homepage in the stats on that day.

Happy to see that, looking forward to increased user numbers.

On this day it surpassed 10k downloads and has about 1000 Average Daily users.

This has been Firefox only addon up till today. I have ported the extension to work with Chrome.

Hopefully this will make it easier for teams to use the extension on projects.

Bugs have been fixed, plugin is stable. I also introduced Preferences modal.

Firefox has changed their plugin API a couple of times.
Since I was not monetizing the plugin I had no motivation to update it one more time to work with latest versions. This resulted in dip of downloads and usages.

However, I was getting more requests for features in the public Trello board (https://trello.com/b/4Vgbr5e7/trello-improvements-ff-add-on) and after a while I decided to keep the plugin active, even for the sake of it not dying out due to this trivial issue.

I updated the way plugins worked and now it is compatible with latest Firefox APIs.

P.S. I think Firefox has made a good decision here
