January 6, 2026 We built TripMemo because our travel memories were fading...

Hey IH 👋

We're Sam and Max, two mates from the UK who love travelling but hate our 9-to-5s.

Last year we realised something depressing: we'd been on some incredible trips together, but could barely remember the details. The photos were scattered across camera rolls, the stories were fading, and we had nothing to actually show for any of it.

So we started building TripMemo as a side project—nights and weekends, fuelled by the dream of eventually escaping the office grind.

What is TripMemo?

It's a travel memory app that turns your trips into TripBooks—beautiful digital journals with your photos, notes, and a map of everywhere you went. Think of it like a scrapbook that actually gets made, not one you plan to make "when you have time."

The idea is simple: trips fade from memory way faster than you'd expect. TripMemo helps you capture the moments while you're there, so you can relive them years later.

What makes it different:

  • Real-time collaboration (perfect for couples/group trips—everyone adds their photos to one shared TripBook)

  • Works fully offline (essential when you're travelling)

  • Polaroid-style layouts that actually look good

  • Not a planning app, not a social feed—just your memories, beautifully preserved

We're still building, still learning, and still working those 9-to-5s (for now). Would love to connect with other indie hackers on the journey.

Happy to answer any questions about the build, the tech, or how we're juggling this alongside full-time jobs.

Cheers, Sam & Max

About

Trips fade from memory faster than we realise. Photos sit in camera rolls and never get looked at again. We built TripMemo so travellers (us!) can actually capture and relive their trips all in one place.
