August 11, 2020 2 million user at TweetEraser

To be honest: I did almost nothing for it. Next to my full-time job as PHP/Laravel developer I am spending in average 1 hour per day on customer support by email and doing once in a while some system maintenance (security update etc.).

Anyway: TweetEraser reached 2 million user (freebies) but as well ~10k of paying user. Thank you!!

Marketing: Running about twice a week for a couple of hours Twitter Ads. Every other day searching on Twitter for "delete tweets" and like/retweet related tweets (maybe 10 minutes of work). That's it!!

Not sure what would happen if I dive deeper into marketing and its strategies in order to make more money. But right now I am a full-time developer with basic marketing knowledge and less time :D

February 1, 2017 TweetEraser starts to make money

After a couple of years see TweetEraser growing I decided to get paid for it. Since the start in 2010 we had 1 million user who used TweetEraser at least once and it was an easy decision.

So PayPal has been implemented as a payment option. I am offering still a free version which is related on the restrictions of the Twitter API (handling of the max. most recent 3200 tweets of a Twitter account holder). Subscriptions are only one-time subscriptions and are valid for 30 days.

For a couple of month I tried to offer recurring subscriptions. No success. Reason: Most of the customer are private people (B2C) and only want to clean up their Twitter accounts once in a while (e.g. 2 times a year). Therefor recurring subscriptions were not useful.

December 1, 2010 TweetEraser goes live

After a couple of weeks of development using PHP/SLIM the first version of TweetEraser went online.

There is no rocket science inside. This SaaS has been build with PHP and the micro framework SLIM. It connects to Twitter using their API in order to retrieve tweets of the signed-in Twitter account holder.

It has some filter functionalities and of course the option to select all filtered tweets in order to delete them with just a few clicks.

From the beginning TweetEraser was a free to use tool.

Basically because it is still not possible at Twitter to delete unwanted/old tweets on bulk. Nor it is possible to filter these unwanted tweets.
