April 5, 2021 New v2 release

New release with a ton of new performance improvements!

  • Use mutation observers to identify new Typetura elements, resulting in DOM transformations before full page load and PWA support. Also avoid repaints for faster load times.
  • A new configuration, with settings stored inside a typetura object.
  • Use requestAnimationFrame to improve performance.
  • Remove the resizeObserver polyfill to improve performance and cut file size by about 2/3rds. Just one version of Safari supports Typetura with the polyfill and it’s not worth it for that one, now old, browser with waning market share. Like all CSS, Typetura is intended to be used as progressive enhancement. Make sure fallbacks are in place.

About
