typewipe
Online writing assistant for creating better Seo content
We did it! In under 30 days, we developed our beta of typewipe. And let me tell you, it was a fun and exhausting experience. We worked hard every day without much sleep and a lot of coffee to release our beta as fast as possible and get valuable feedback.
Learned or further confirmed lessons developing the beta:
- No matter how good you plan and outline the project upfront - always multiple your ETA by at least 2!
- Make sure you sleep well, you are not more productive by working 12-14h a day
- Having a self-imposed deadline and goals is important to finish your project
- Programming is more about thinking than typing
- Don't be perfect (at least in the beginning) not finished is the same as not started
All in all, it was an amazing experience, creating something from zero in a matter of weeks and being proud of yourself.
We know typewipe is far from perfect and has a lot of room for improvement. We do think for the amount of time the result is not too shabby. We have a clear vision for the next features and tools for writers, freelancers and SEO experts, helping them to make the research and writing of SEO content easier and faster.
I run multiple websites about different topics and I'm always looking for the next SEO improvements I can do for my websites.
I believe one of the most important foundations for a well-ranking website is having quality content and give your visitors the information they are searching for. Of course, there are other factors like technical SEO and building an audience or community with your different channels besides search engines.
But I learned the hard way as a webmaster and freelancer that having good content isn't enough. You need to make sure your content is optimized for search engines as well. I read dozens of guides on how to write better SEO content. I started testing on my own websites and implemented this knowledge.
But I never had a way to know upfront if my content was good in the eyes of search engines. And using a checklist in a Notepad file wasn't the right way to make sure all factors for SEO contents were applied.
I searched the web and there are a lot of tools promising to help write better SEO content. With checks for content structure, spelling, readability, relevancy and suggesting topics.
None of the tools I tested had all those checks altogether and if they came close they were very expensive. I was brainstorming with one of my good friends with I already made a couple of great projects. Thinking about if we could develop a tool for our writers and later on make it public?
