Privacy-first automotive marketplace

August 30, 2026 I built a privacy-first automotive marketplace — Tytymo is finally live

I started building Tytymo because buying and selling automotive items online has become more complicated than it needs to be.

Sellers often deal with high fees, cluttered platforms, intrusive tracking, or services that take a percentage of the sale. I wanted to try a simpler approach.

Tytymo is a privacy-first automotive marketplace for cars & trucks, auto parts, and local automotive services.

A few decisions I made while building it:

• No tracking cookies or browser fingerprinting

• Passwordless SMS sign-in

• No percentage taken from a seller's transaction

• Listings are free during launch

• Cars, parts, and automotive services live in one marketplace

The longer-term model is intentionally simple: a small flat listing fee rather than taking a cut when someone sells something.

I built Tytymo as a solo founder, and getting it to this point involved a lot more than building the marketplace itself — taxonomy, search and filtering, seller flows, mobile UX, privacy decisions, and figuring out how to get the first users when you're starting from zero.

Tytymo is now live, and I'm at the stage where feedback is more valuable than pretending everything is finished.

If you have a minute to look at it, I'd especially love feedback on the marketplace experience: Does it immediately make sense what Tytymo is and why you'd use it instead of an existing automotive marketplace?

The flat-fee/no tracking angle is clear, but the broader marketplace scope is interesting.

Curious whether sellers are responding more to the privacy/fee promise, or to a specific automotive category where existing marketplaces are particularly frustrating.
