Hi Indie Hackers,
I’ve always found most UK salary calculators to be a bit of a mess—either the interface is cluttered, or they don't handle complex scenarios like the Scottish tax bands or the various Student Loan plans very well.
So, I decided to build my own: UK Salary Take Home.
My goal was to create the "cleanest" financial utility for UK taxpayers. It’s built to be fast, precise, and privacy-first (all calculations happen locally in the browser).
What’s included:
The Calculator: Handles all UK/Scottish tax bands, Student Loan Plans (1-5 + PG), and Pension contributions (Salary Sacrifice).
Knowledge Base: I’ve also launched a dedicated blog section with articles explaining complex tax topics, helping users understand the "why" behind the numbers.
Privacy: No financial data ever leaves your device.
