Unit Scope
Unit economics calculator for mobile app founders
I was analyzing a mobile app funnel recently. Install rate was above benchmark, trial rate was above benchmark and paid conversion also.
Every metric looked healthy and ROI was -23%.
The problem wasn't the funnel at all: LTV was $38 but cost per paid user was $51. No amount of creative testing or onboarding optimization was going to fix that but the math was just broken.
This is the pattern I kept seeing with indie founders: they optimize the wrong thing because they're looking at metrics one by one instead of the full picture.
So I built UnitScope - a unit economics calculator for mobile apps. You put in your funnel numbers, it shows you exactly what's broken and what's not worth touching.
Would love feedback from anyone running paid traffic to a mobile app.

Indie founders spend money on ads, get installs, and still lose money - with no idea why. Sometimes the funnel looks fine but the math just doesn't work: LTV is lower than cost per paid user. UnitScope shows the full pic

This is a strong problem because it catches the mistake founders usually notice too late: the funnel can look healthy while the business is still losing money.
The positioning I’d be careful with is calling it mainly a “unit economics calculator.” That sounds useful, but a bit passive.
The sharper promise might be closer to:
“Know if your mobile app paid acquisition can actually work before you spend more on ads.”
That hits the real pain faster.
For early users, I would not target every mobile app founder. I’d focus on founders already running paid traffic, seeing decent trial or paid conversion, but still unsure why the numbers are not working. They already feel the pain and understand the inputs.
The first acquisition test could be very narrow: find mobile app founders posting about Meta/TikTok/Apple Search Ads, trial conversion, CAC, or ROAS, then lead with the “healthy funnel, broken math” angle.
Happy to put a tighter version in writing if useful. I’d map the first user segment, sharper positioning, outreach angle, and a 7-day plan to get the right app founders testing UnitScope.
