Unreadit
The best of Reddit in your inbox, every week
Today we reached 6k total unique subscribers across all our newsletters.
It’s a big milestone that we were able to reach thanks to yesterday’s successful launch, following some months of steady growth.
We hope to reach 10k by the end of next year!
Today we launched version 2 of the product.
Here’s what’s new:
- Our top newsletters are now 100% human-curated
- New automated newsletters powered by mailbrew.com
- Moved to an awesome .com domain for the website
- Full browsable archive for every newsletter
The automated newsletters will be powered by a new service we are soft-launching called Mailbrew (formerly known as Unreadit Pro). It will allow you to create newsletters like the Unreadit ones, but with the content you choose from Reddit, RSS, YouTube, Twitter and more services to come.

While we're making progress on Unreadit Pro, we often check our early access list to see how many people signed up to use the beta when we launch, and I've been surprised to see this big number.
We're a few weeks aways from an MVP, excited to share this with some users. The MVP will allow to create newsletter with subreddits and RSS Feeds as sources, and add some basic level of customization too. We're always using it ourselves and I love having these simple digests of my favorite sources on different topics.
I hope we'll cross the 1k early access subscribers mark before finishing work on the main features.

Nice Fabrizio! I look forward to your MVP launch. I just left my email on your website.
Additionally, I launched https://www.joinsecret.com/ to help entrepreneurs save $$$ on the best software (AWS, Airtable, Pipedrive, etc.) when launching their business. It's totally free. Maybe you'll be interested in some apps for yourself! -

Congrats on the huge sign ups.
Do you mind sharing what are the different source thru which you got those sign ups.
We closed a couple of big sponsorship deals in the past weeks and here we are with $1170 in sold sponsorships across our newsletter network 🙌
A big part of achieving this was starting to do direct sales instead of relying on a self-checkout page. Sales require human interaction, we feel dumb for not realizing this earlier, but hey we are just starting to get our head around this whole sales thing.

After gaining 2000 subscribers on launch day, the growth slowed down considerably, but we just kept going and made each newsletter better. They kept growing slowly by word of mouth and today we finally passed the 5k mark across all the newsletters in our network.
With each new subscriber it becomes easier to sell sponsorships and we also gain potential customers for Unreadit Pro (unread.it/pro).

You just got another subscriber 😃
Are you selling sponsorships yet? How? If you are, do you use any marketplaces like paved?

Thanks Paul! Appreciated.
We tried those marketplaces but without a lot of success. Mass outreach is what worked best for us.

This seems like the same concept I launched last year except you did much better execution! :) https://www.indiehackers.com/product/mr-postman
Good luck on growing the audience, the design looks fantastic!

Ha! We launched on the same day, and saw you guys sky rocket to number 1. Well done!

Super happy for you! Don’t lose the momentum now (like I lost mine)

We will try not to! Any advice on what worked best for you?

But I’ll say, try to get as much media attention as you can now. Use the #1 top product of the day status to get into TechCrunch, The Verge, The Next Web and some others. Maybe some productivity ones like Lifehacker. Tip those media if they haven't written about you yet — you’ll get a ton of traffic from there. In retrospective, getting picked by media is what gave me the most installs.

Well I did lose mine, so not an expert, lol. I hope to regain it when the iOS version is made (thus, another chance to launch on PH, pitch to media etc)

Would love to hear about how you think you did it?

We were fortunate enough to get a ton of traffic on launch day. Number one product on PH and a ton of buzz about it on Twitter. Will be hard to keep this pace of growth
