April 24, 2020 A Medium Post for Our Success

I prepared a medium post to describe how we were able to be successful to create #1 Most Upvoted Product in Product Hunt.

I hope that would help anyone who is not sure about when to start.

January 15, 2020 New Subscribers

Up Ninja got new subscribers. It is a really good start for me because it helps us to see that "there is a future" in the project. Current subscribers are coming with Basic Package subscriptions and I believe once they get used to work with Up Ninja, they will upgrade to more advanced plans.

Would love to hear how many of your trials converted to paying customers after the 15 days.

January 11, 2020 Released! #1 Product Of The Day

I released the project in Product Hunt at 00:01 AM PT. Right now, as of 03:14 AM PT, the project is #1 product of the day. It is all organic support since I do not have a good network as others have. I will keep following how the project will position during the day and share my experience afterwards.

I am willing to get the support of IndieHackers, too.

January 10, 2020 Product Hunt Release is Scheduled

Oh my god! It is time to write this message to you! 🥰

I am super excited to to release my first ever product with great people. 🎉🥳

I am Oben from beautiful Madrid, working as a software development engineer. During my entire professional life, I always worked in enterprise level companies but this has never prevented me from working on my side projects. Today is a big milestone for me to share my product with you.

As you may know, most businesses rely on over-priced 💵and hard to manage 💩 solutions that should provide very simple outcome:

"Monitor my services, notify me when things go wrong and be transparent to my customers about the outages."

I was one of the person who needed an affordable solution with simple user interface and decided to build Up Ninja and happy to share it with you, yay! 😁

What are the important features of Up Ninja?

  • Uptime Monitoring: uptime rate, response time and apdex 📉
  • Request Analysis: show the timing details of request to overcome issues 📊
  • Response Analysis: analyse how the service responds in average compared to custom time intervals. 🛫
  • Email, slack and web push alerts to you and the team members 📧
  • No false positives, reliable monitoring: check the potential down alarms second time from a different region and make sure it is not a false alarm. 💪
  • 9 regions spread to the world. 🌍
  • Status pages: Don't leave your customers in the dark during downtime & outages of your website. 😇

What else?

  • SSL Monitoring: Certificate expiration is important. Receive updates before it expires.
  • Customisable Requests: Your requests are going to be fully customisable. You can configure the URL, Check Interval, Expected Status Code, Expected Text Body, Request Headers and Request Body of your monitors.
  • Projects: Use Projects to organize your monitoring dashboards, to have finer-grained team control, and to simplify your monitor mapping.
  • Teams: You can share or join to other projects to have collaborative access to your dashboards and monitors.
  • Mobile friendly, responsive design: Up Ninja has fully responsive design so you can also use your mobile phone to check your monitor details.
  • Affordable pricing: I was very upset about acquisitive tools. I believe affordable prices are very important for small and mid-size businesses.

This is the phase 1 of Up Ninja, which took 22 part time days of mine to build it from scratch since the first commit. There is a lot of improvements in my list for customer's benefit.

Please let me know about your opinions & feedbacks! I opened my 4 eyes, waiting for them eagerly! 😀👏

January 8, 2020 Patiently Waiting - January 11th

The release is planned to be on January 11th. It makes me feel very stressed. It is going to be my first-evet SaaS release and I believe it is going to be better than I expect. I trust my project but I feel the lack of subscription lists issue. It is going to be great experience...

Looks like a very nicely designed product. Pretty amazing you built it in 22 days as a side project.

A lot of your competitors offer freemium plans, did you consider it?

    1. 1

I feel all-time-free plans does not make sense to customers who are paying due to the pricing strategy I offer. Offering 4.99$ requires effective source usage in the hosts. So, I believe I have to keep offering 15-days trial version to experience the tool and then pay 3 times less than a BigMac to have the service for a longer time :) What do you think about my approach?

      1. 1

Personally I think it's fine. My only concern is people who may compare your service against alternatives and would prefer to use a free plan for a very low amount of monitors first before paying. Like you said, the space is very competitive.

You can always just see how it goes and tweak where necessary after you have some analytics to back up your decisions.

Thank you so much for the idea, as you said, A/B testing would work fine. So I will try a little bit.

January 4, 2020 Phase 1 implementation is finished in 22 days.

Hi there, it's me, Oben Isik, from beautiful Madrid, Spain.

I started Up Ninja as a side-project because one of my requirement in my another side project was exactly what Up Ninja provides.

I designed Up Ninja as a SaaS project so the infrastructure is well designed to have the potential of being beyond a side project. This is why our service is reliable, simple and affordable.

In today's world, most businesses rely on complex and pricey solutions that should provide very simple outcome: Monitor my services, notify me (in real time) when something goes wrong and be able to have a transparent endpoint (status page) to my customers about the situation.

So within the light of this idea, I came up with Up Ninja. I am very open to communicate with any of you because all your opinions are very important to make Up Ninja a better software.

Please feel free to write me whenever you want to. Me and my team mates will be appreciated to your feedbacks.

Thank you, Oben.
