Uppora.net

Uppora tells you when your site is down. And that's it.

October 7, 2020 Uppora.net officially launched!

We actually launched a month earlier, but we didn't really tell anyone. After designing an email system within Uppora.net, we sent out the emails to everyone who signed up to know when the site launched.

So far, we've received a ton of comments on how beautiful the site is, so score one for me (the designer).

They say you should spend an equal amount of time marketing your product to the amount of time you spent making it. In this case, that means a year of marketing.

The entire time this has been a project somewhat akin to a college course in software product creation and this next step is to gain as much experience with marketing as possible.

No matter what either of us make from here on, it will always have this same problem - how do you get it in front of other people and capture their interest enough for them to join you?

June 18, 2020 Beta MVP Launched

After taking an 8 month break to make a fuller version of a game made during a 48-hour video game jam that won the competition, we got back to work on Uppora. NanoDano worked on the functionality while Casey finessed the design and styled all the pages in HTML/CSS. Currently has testers kicking the tires while we make small fixes and start ramping up work on the marketing side of things. If all goes well within 4-6 weeks, we'll go ahead and roll the site into full live status!

June 12, 2019 Ready to collect beta testers

We decided the product is almost far enough along to start testing, and the next thing to create is a place to collect signups and start telling others the product exists. We created the mailing list landing page design and began signing up on sites to tell others about it. Kinda like this one!

December 19, 2018 First Meeting

The Co-Founders "NanoDano" and "Boz" meet to discuss a potential project and figure out the arrangement. We decided to extend a piece of software NanoDano wrote to notify him when his site is down as a starting project for working together. This launched our next phase to milestone out the project.

About

We wanted to make a competitor in busy niche of uptime monitoring with a strong UX/UI focus that makes it as BS-free as possible for a busy small business owner to set up their site and be on their way.
