May 11, 2026 **Launched Uptimo: uptime monitoring that lives in your Telegram chat**

This morning I made my first €5 sale on Uptimo — a small, self-paid test charge that I refunded a minute later, but the whole live payment flow worked end-to-end. That marks the official "launched" milestone for the product I've been hacking on across the last four evenings (first commit: May 7).

What Uptimo is

Uptime monitoring that lives entirely inside a Telegram bot. You message it monitor https://my-site.com and it adds a check. When the site goes down it pings you in chat with inline buttons. You can say silence example.com for 1 hour and it silences alerts. No dashboard, no separate app, no extra login. The bot speaks English, Italian, Spanish, French — any language you message it in. Free tier 5 monitors, Pro €5/mo for 50 monitors.

Why I built it

Every monitoring tool I've used (UptimeRobot, Better Uptime, Kuma) wants me to open a dashboard tab. I keep Telegram open all day anyway. So I wired the alerts straight into the place I'd naturally see them, and made the bot smart enough that I can also CONFIGURE monitoring from chat — not just receive alerts.

Stack and infra

- Python 3.12 / FastAPI / SQLAlchemy 2.0 async / Postgres 16

- Worker pulls due monitors with FOR UPDATE SKIP LOCKED (no Redis, no queue)

- Multi-tenant from day one (tenant_id on every row, X-API-Key auth)

- Single Hetzner CAX11 ARM box, €3.79/mo

- Bot NLU via a chain of free LLM providers (Groq llama-3.3-70b primary, falls back through Cerebras / OpenRouter / Mistral on rate-limit — total daily token budget ~3M on free tiers)

- Cloudflare Pages for the landing

- Stripe for billing

- All-in fixed cost: less than €4/month

Numbers

- 4 evenings of focused work (~70 commits since May 7)

- 1 paying customer so far (me, immediately refunded)

- LLM cost: €0 (everything on free tiers with auto-fallback)

- Break-even: 1 real subscriber

What I'm asking from this community

I'm bad at distribution. I know how to ship. I don't know how to find the first 10 real users.

Three specific questions:

1. Where do non-techie indie SaaS owners hang out and complain about monitoring? I want to reach the founders who don't read HN.

2. For a Telegram-first product, does it make sense to lean into the "Italian indie made in Italy" angle, or stay neutral/English?

3. Is the €5/mo pricing too low (perceived value problem) or right (entry-level)?

Will respond to every comment. Roast it.

About

Honestly? I got tired of every uptime monitor (UptimeRobot, Better Uptime, Pingdom, Kuma) asking me to keep yet another dashboard tab open. I check Telegram a hundred times a day anyway — why not get the alerts there,
