US Zip Code API

Today I submitted the Zip Code API (https://www.metadapi.com/API-Products/Zip-Code-API) for launch on Product Hunt (https://www.producthunt.com/posts/us-zip-code-api). First time launching, and main objective is to really understand the entire launch process. I'm not in marketing, so all of this work is new to me and I find it really hard to do sometimes. But as a learning experience hopefully it would allow me to improve with time .

I've been working with "data" for all my professional career, from building data warehouses, creating dashboards, analytics, servicing datasets via files, integrations, ETL's, API's and managing data teams and data governance initiatives. Managing data is a complex subject and organizations spend a lot of time making sure the data available for them has the highest quality possible to help enable value to the organization.

One area of opportunity that I've enabled in the past, is the ability to combine data from multiple sources and apply good data quality rules to ensure the data can be trusted by the business. I soon realized that a lot of data is available, but we always need to look in multiple places, code multiple integrations and constantly keep this data up to date. The lightbulb moment was realizing I could build these datasets and make them available at scale for others to use. So the US Zip Code API, is the first of these "data products" (from Metadapi.com) that provide good quality data (in this case around the US Zip Codes) and enhance it with other datasets from the Census Bureau, the US office of management and budget, the IRS etc. to provide a one stop shop for trusted data.
