USA Freelance Calculator

Hey Indie Hackers,

A few days ago I launched my project on Product Hunt, but it ended up getting zero views. I honestly felt pretty low after putting so much time and energy into it.

I wanted to share the story behind the build because it was not a smooth journey at all.

I do not have a laptop or PC, so I built the entire thing on my old Infinix Note 12 4G phone. I also could not afford paid AI tools, so I started with a free ChatGPT trial and then used a mix of free tiers and credits from different AI tools to piece everything together.

Working on a phone was rough. The device would heat up, lag, and sometimes even freeze while I was copying and pasting code line by line. It was frustrating, but I kept going.

The project is USA Freelance Calculator — a free 5-in-1 toolkit for freelancers with:

• Hourly Rate Calculator

• Platform Fee Calculator

• Tax Estimator

• Income Goal Planner

• Budget Planner

What I tried to focus on was simplicity. No ads, no signup, no popups, and no unnecessary friction. Everything calculates live as you type, and the tools are connected so users do not need to re-enter data again and again.

I am not posting this to market it hard. I just want feedback from people who understand building and shipping.

If you are a freelancer, or if you have a minute to test it on desktop, I would really appreciate honest feedback: Does this solve a real problem? How does the UX feel? What would you improve first?
