Daily sales slowed down since last week, but 100 USD in total sales is an important landmark anyways.
I start to think of ways to productize this template. My biggest frustration is that nobody answered to my invite for an user interview yet. I'm thinking of ways to reward people for their time. Perhaps a one-off offer of gift cards for the first 5 users that agree to be interviewed?
Exciting news! We just got an email from Notion.so that our User Research Playbook for B2B products is finally live in their template gallery! This is a huge deal for us because it means we're now the first Google result when someone searches for "notion template b2b".
Being shown in the notion.so/templates has already had a positive impact on sales, with 10 orders received yesterday without any marketing effort. After a month of no activity, receiving these Gumroad notifications in the evening was a pleasant surprise.
Now I'm ready to take the next step. I'm planning to reach out to these new users and gather their feedback. Our ultimate goal is to turn this framework into a SaaS product, and this Notion template was our first experiment to see if there's a market for a "user interview companion" of sorts. Next up? User interviews!
Kaching!
This came sooner than expected. I was just adding the Gumroad link on a few Notion affiliate sites - didn't even publicly talk about it - and the first sale came 2 days later.
I've reached out to the buyer for a user interview. I mean, this is a User Research playbook: dogfooding it is the first thing on my priorities list.

I'm a product manager with 6 years of experience, 2 of them being as a founder of a B2B SaaS. But getting it off the ground was hard. Super hard. Until it wasn't. Lately, I've hit 3 major clients. Things are looking up and I'm super excited!
So this weekend, my wife, who was probably fed up with my blabbing about my product plans, asked what changed and whether I started to use some framework.
To which I replied: the framework is talking to users.
And so she told me maybe I should turn that into a product.
Hm... It could be a good idea, but I didn't want to spend much time on it - especially now I'm already filled with ideas to validate for the product I already have. So instead I took the trackers and planners I was already using, collected my Zettelkasten notes, and launched it as a Notion template!
Plus it's my first Content product and my first experience on Gumroad, so this might be a cool experience.

I thought I knew all about product discovery and delivery when I started my first company. Boy, was I wrong! But I learned. Eventually, I got my first customers! So I mixed all my learnings, to create this framework.
