UseResume
AI Resume Builder
When I was applying for jobs, I had this generic resume that wasn't really perfect (to say the least).
I would occasionally spend 15 mins tailoring it for special opportunities, but mostly got rejected anyway. The thing is - those tailored applications DID land more interviews. But when you're applying to hundreds of jobs, it didn’t really make that much of a difference since I was spending a lot of time on creating documents. I ended up just spamming generic resumes & cover letters out of frustration. As a result I got to even lower interview rates. Plus I had some moments when I forgot to change the recruiter's name or the company name in the cover letter.
When ChatGPT came along, I thought I'd found the solution. It helped tailor applications faster, but there were still problems: - My template was a mess, it was misaligned & inconsistent from a ton of copy-pasting and constant adjustments - Manually copying AI output was tedious - Early LLMs wrote like marketing brochures
Fast forward a year. LLMs got way better, and I had this thought: what if AI could create the actual documents directly? That's why I built useResume.
Here's how it wroks:
1. Upload your existing resume & cover letter
2. Paste the job description
3. Let Claude/ChatGPT optimise everything
4. Export in clean, professional templates
No more manual formatting, copy-pasting between docs, generic applications, forgotten company names, wasting time on crap After testing with early users and seeing positive results, I'm excited to release this to everyone who's struggling with the same problems I had. It solved my application headaches - hoping it can do the same for others in their job search journey!
If you're tired of the resume/cover letter grind, check out useResume.

I’ve found that mixing AI drafts with a clear structure works way better than relying on one long generic doc. Having a clean layout makes the AI’s edits land properly, so I sometimes grab a starting point from places like https://moderncv.co.uk/cv-templates and let an AI fill in role‑specific achievements. Cuts the rewrite time a ton and keeps everything looking sharp without feeling like I’m reinventing the wheel each time.
