2024 Building the MVP

Honestly, this has been the most fun project to date.

Recently, I was inspired by Ian Nuttall, a serial maker with a passion for pSEO. He suggested a blog on hourly UV ratings having 30K monthly visitors and over $8k of a sale value.

I decided to build one from scratch, because I care about the topic of skin protection against the sun. I always felt the sun became stronger in the last 20 years, and it turns out I was right.

Here's how I built it.

  • API : OpenUV
  • Locations in the USA (USA Census bureau), Canada (Wikipedia), Australia (Wikipedia)
  • Coding Editor: Cursor

Time to build: 32 hrs

August 29, 2024 Skin Burn Rate up 20% in the last 20 years

UV levels are soaring, with Boston’s index up by 125% and Miami’s by 131%. These rising UV indices contribute to the alarming increase in skin cancers—basal cell carcinoma up 77% and squamous cell carcinoma a shocking 310% since 1990. Protect your skin; the risks are real.
