VentureStrat AI
AI-powered fundraising platform for startups
I'm building VentureStrat- an AI-powered fundraising platform for founders running their own raise. The product idea came from doing my own raise and realizing how broken the workflow is.
Three things I learned that changed how I think about cold investor outreach:
1. The "list" is not the product. The matching is. I started with the assumption that founders need access to more investors. Wrong. They need access to the right investors. I had a list of 8,000 VCs early on and it was actively harmful. I wasted weeks contacting people who don't invest in my stage, sector, or geography. The unlock is filtering, not volume.
2. Personalization doesn't mean mentioning their kid's name. Most "personalization" advice is theater. What actually moves reply rates is showing you understand the investor's thesis. "I noticed you've made 4 investments in MENA fintech in the last 6 months and we're [specific thing relevant to that thesis]" works. "Hi {firstName}, I hope you're doing well" doesn't.
3. The CRM is the work. I lost two real conversations because I forgot to follow up. Founders running a raise need a CRM more than they need another database. The data is table stakes; the workflow is the value.
Three weeks of cold outreach took me from 2% reply rates to 14%. None of it required magic, it was just better targeting and a system to remember who said what.
If anyone wants to swap notes on running a raise, happy to chat. Also building VentureStrat at venturestrat.ai if you want to follow along.

About
VentureStrat exists because fundraising is still unnecessarily chaotic for startups. Many startups waste time chasing the wrong investors, managing scattered outreach, and losing momentum. We’re built to solve this.
