February 28, 2021 Finished the website.

We created the website as an initial place to write down our ideas, motivations and showcase our progress so far. Therefore its intended audience is investors or people who want to get involved with the project rather than potential customers.

The website was built using word press because, well drag and drop is definitely easier.

December 20, 2020 Vepel was conceived.

Shortly after I left Palantir, I was thinking I should do something with my existing capital, especially as I would no longer be receiving an income.

However, managing my money always seemed to be at the bottom of my TODO pile. Maybe it's because I think it's a dauntingly complex task, where I have little to no domain knowledge. Or maybe it's because I am simply too lazy to justify the extra work needed in order to grow my cash.

Then I had an idea, what if knew how Barclays invested my capital, and how much it was growing; in theory, couldn't I just do the same thing? Of course nothing is ever this simple, but this seed grew into something much bigger. Wouldn't it be nice if my bank gave me the option to invest the capital that was collecting dust in my current account. Perhaps they allowed me to pick the things I wanted to invest in, or just showed me the things they would have invested in otherwise, this way allowing me to support the causes that I believe in. What's more, what if they also told me how much money I could comfortably invest or put in an ISA. All this lead me to think of Vepel, a bank that focuses on helping users grow their capital.

About

Banks often seem more interested in selling products rather than helping us achieve outcomes. We wanted to create a new bank with one focus in mind, helping users grow their capital.
