AI sales call coaching for teams that can't afford Gong

April 26, 2026 I just launched Verracoach — AI call coaching for small sales teams

Hey Indie Hackers,

I just launched Verracoach today.

The problem I kept seeing: sales managers at small

companies have no real way to coach their reps on calls.

They either listen to recordings manually on weekends

or just guess why deals are being lost.

Gong solves this but costs $50k a year. That is not

reality for a team of 5 to 15 reps.

So I built Verracoach. Upload a call recording and get

a score across 5 dimensions covering discovery,

objections, next steps, talk ratio and rapport. Plus

a 3 bullet coaching snapshot and timestamped objections

flagged automatically.

Takes 3 minutes. No CRM needed. Free trial at verracoach.com

Would love honest feedback from anyone who has managed

a sales team or built a SaaS before. What would make

this more useful for you?

It is a massive burden for sales managers to spend their weekends listening to call recordings at double speed just to find the one crucial moment where a discovery call went sideways.

The real benefit of a tool like this is democratizing the "post-game analysis" that usually only enterprise teams can afford because giving a rep immediate feedback on their talk-to-listen ratio allows them to adjust their approach for the very next call rather than waiting for a monthly review.

Since you are focusing on the 5-15 rep team size are you planning to add a "Leaderboard" or "Team Trends" view so managers can see if a specific objection is currently tripping up the entire squad?

Leaderboard is already built in. Managers can see every rep ranked by score and track improvement over time.

Team trends showing which objections are hitting the whole squad is on the roadmap. That pattern spotting across all calls is exactly where it gets powerful for a manager. Working on surfacing that automatically after 20+ calls analyzed.

Surfacing those patterns automatically after 20+ calls is where the shift from "coaching" to "market intelligence" happens because it tells the manager if they need to update the entire team's talk track rather than just one person's skills.

The speed of analysis is key for smaller teams who don't have dedicated sales enablement—getting that score in 3 minutes means a rep can learn from a mistake before their next meeting starts.

I focus on this type of competitive intelligence in my high-tier PR and media placement work where we analyze industry trends to position a brand's authority on major news outlets.

Have you thought about adding an "Action Item Tracker" that specifically pulls out the next steps agreed upon during the call to ensure no follow-up slips through the cracks?

The market intelligence angle is exactly where this gets interesting at scale. When you have 20 plus calls analyzed the patterns stop being about individual reps and start being about your entire sales motion. That shift from coaching to strategy is something I want to surface more explicitly.

The action item tracker is a great idea and honestly one of the most requested features so far. Pulling out agreed next steps automatically and making them trackable is on the roadmap. The goal is that no follow up slips and the manager can see at a glance which reps are closing their loops.

What does the competitive intelligence side look like in your PR work? Curious how you are identifying the patterns that matter.

That’s a great point Ayub. In my PR work I look for Authority Gaps. I analyze what industry leaders are saying on sites like MSN or Yahoo and find what they are missing.

If everyone is talking about features but ignoring future trends that is a pattern. I then position my clients to fill that gap. It is basically the same logic as Verracoach: finding the signals in the noise to get the win.

Exactly right and what’s interesting is most sales managers don’t even know what signals they’re missing until they see the data. The gap between what reps think went wrong on a call and what actually went wrong is usually massive. What industry are most of your clients in? Curious if any are in sales-heavy businesses

I kept seeing the same problem. Small sales teams losing deals they could have won and nobody could tell them why. The managers I spoke to were spending their weekends listening to call recordings trying to figure out
