Instant business idea validation - validate before you Quit
I remember the day I needed to change. As an Australian Building Certifier yet again late for another inspection, I remember the words of the taxi driver who could see how stressed I was. You're not alone. There's alot of you. Spending money you don't have, buying things you don't need, impressing people you don't like. I couldn't believe it. That was me.
I'm not alone. Most of us go through life making major life choices but the foundation was caving in to begin with. I heard it put better than ever a few years ago. Most of us are making decisions in a forest when we're in the wrong forest to begin with. It's not our fault much of the time. We're limited by our genes, our opportunities, our education and the belief in ourselves.
What I have learnt is that it's in the midsts of Thadversity that the heart grows stronger. Think about it. When are you growing? Exactly. It's not when you're celebrating a win and wake up hung over the next morning. It's when you're down and out that you start to grow mentally, spiritually and intellectually. You become street wise. Wisdom you never get from the College degree. It's wisdom from trial and error and the wild days of desperation.
So are you in the right forest to begin with? Start with this question. Are you happy. Not in a superficial sense. In a brutally honest sense. Because going through the motions is like death warmed up. You're the living dead. Life's to short. Find your passion. Find what leaps you out of bed faster than Usain Bolt in the morning. It's not a dress rehearsal.
I've always loved starting businesses. My first business was selling golf balls in the creeks at the local golf course, clean them up and sell 3 for $2.00. I ran an Australian Building Certification business in Australia for 13 years. I also founded a Solar Panel business in WA. I wish I had Vetted in my early days. It would have saved me a world of pain. I would have discovered I was in the wrong forest to begin with. Ask yourself, are you in the right forest. What excites you? Is the market big enough? Is the problem big enough and would your customers be over the moon giving you money to solve it for them.
Don't be too quick to dismiss it if you're not initially over the moon and passionate about it yourself. I see too many people make this mistake. That comes. For example, if you're a qualified, experienced and competent mechanic, chances are dramatically improved you will succeed starting a business with anything related to the automotive industry. "Oh but I'm sick of cars!" It doesn't matter.
You have to remember, when you start a business you have the freedom once it starts growing, to do the work in the business you love. Just not at the beginning. I see too many people make this mistake, and its tragic. Think of Elon Musk. Do you think he needs to code anymore when he had to forming Paypal? Of course not. Once he grew, he employed people to do the work he didn't want to do. Now of course, we are moving into the frontier where we can hire ai agents to do the work we don't want to do, but that's another topic of conversation.

About
When I started working on my next idea, I went looking for business validation tools… and quickly hit a wall. Most were built for large consulting firms: complex, heavy, noisy. I just wanted to start validating.
