Discover music through human stories, not algorithms
Hey Indie Hackers! 👋
Just launched Vibes - music discovery through human stories instead of algorithms.
The idea: People share song recommendations with personal context (like "this track got me through my breakup" or "3am overthinking session vibes"), and others discover them by clicking on bottles floating in a digital ocean. Each recommendation disappears forever once found.
Why I built it: Tired of Spotify telling me what to listen to based on data points. Gen Z is obsessed with music discovery and always saying "This song is literally me" - figured they'd want the actual stories behind why songs matter to people.
The approach: Pure HTML/CSS/JS because I wanted to ship fast and focus on validating the core idea, not fighting with frameworks. Sometimes, simple works.
About
I wanted to build a place where you get the story behind why someone loves a song, like "this track got me through my breakup" or "heard this at 3am and it changed my perspective on everything."

This is such a creative take on music discovery — I love how you’re bringing human stories back into the process instead of relying on algorithms.
As an entry-level Technical Program Manager, I could help you manage user feedback loops, organize feature requests, and streamline your product roadmap so you can focus on the creative and technical build. I’m happy to help coordinate outreach, user testing, and even content ideas to validate and scale the concept.
Would love to contribute and help Vibes grow!
