Vidbase Studios
Video editing as a service with the fastest turnaround time
We're still working on our official design system which will mesh well with the high efficiency video editing app we're working on. But we're launching a lo-fi website this week, https://www.vidbase.studio.
We'll expand on it after design system is completed. But for now it'll get the job done. It is okay for us to be embarrassed by the website. Better than having no website at all!
Same customer as before, now 3 months after launch, has another sponsor committed.
Because of this, we've begun to expand our capabilities to edit other types of content and can soon offer editing of YouTube videos, commercials, promotional content, social media, wedding videos, etc.

Our first podcast/video editing customer has received their first official sponsorship after 2 months from launching. It is a weird feeling. It is their first show and they manage it with about 4 hours a week. Others have been asking how in the world he's able to do that and still have a business & family life.

Our first customer has committed to using us for the long haul so we've now secured a nice MRR number to start with. This has enabled us to grow the team a bit to get some dedicated operations personnel and to train more editors.
We now also offer high quality custom music, 2d design, and animation services (subscription plan is required though).

Our first customer has tested our subscription service by buying 2 simultaneous plans to give him twice as many videos edited at once. This is to generate a backlog of content before his launch and he'll cancel the second one at launch. Still, very exciting to see the scale up/down part of the process work effectively.

Our trial period was a success! We've converted our trial into a paying customer.
We've also identified key inefficiencies in our process and reduced the turnaround time from 22 hours to 8 hours (industry average varies between 3 days and 10 days per revision).
We've also refined the intake process to be simpler for the customer so they just need to pass in a link to Riverside (or equivalent) and we'll process the files instead of having the client download the files and reupload back to us (which with such large files can result in errors and retries, can result in human error uploading the wrong files, and much more).

Gave our first customer a trial period run. So far so good. Will check back after he's tried things out. We're doing most of the work manually, onboarding via zoom & email. Just set up an agency portal (cost $100 a month). And started to edit some content.

Editing video is such a slow & painful process but it doesn't have to be. I've created technology to dramatically speed up the editing process and we're dogfooding it by editing content for other people.
