Video to Prompt
Convert videos into AI-ready prompts instantly
Today I’m publicly launching [video to prompt ](https://video2prompt.io/), Video to Prompt.
I built this because I kept running into the same frustration: a good reference video can instantly communicate camera movement, lighting, composition, pacing, and mood, but turning that into a usable prompt still meant pausing the clip and describing everything manually.
The goal of Video to Prompt is to make that step much faster. You can upload a video or paste a URL, and the product analyzes the clip and turns it into a structured prompt you can reuse in tools like Midjourney, Sora, Runway, and other AI workflows.
This is still early, and right now I’m mainly trying to learn two things: whether the output feels specific enough to be genuinely useful, and which workflows people care about most. If you work with AI image or video tools, I’d love honest feedback.
About
I built Video to Prompt to turn reference videos into reusable AI prompts, without manually describing lighting, motion, composition, and mood every time.

Manually describing a reference video is such a tedious bottleneck because it’s nearly impossible to capture those tiny details like camera orbit or specific lighting transitions in just a few words.
The real problem is that most people end up with generic results because they miss the technical "film language" that models like Sora or Runway actually crave to replicate a specific mood. By automating the structural analysis of the clip you are essentially giving users a professional cinematographer's vocabulary without them having to learn the jargon themselves.
Have you noticed if certain styles or camera movements are harder for the AI to translate into text accurately right now?
