Vidrio
Holographic screencasting app for Mac. Free for COVID-19
I spent the last two days preparing the awesomest landing page I could. Then I posted to Product Hunt yesterday around 16:00.
Ryan Hoover upvoted it! Then it mysteriously got de-listed! 😧 But it turns out they just re-scheduled the post for today!
Currently it's at #1 for the day on Product Hunt homepage! How do I make the most of all of these eyeballs?!
Listed testimonials. Found across the web.
Listed use-cases. Future: examples of these.
Listed features. Future: screenshots/vids of these.
Now in dark mode, because it's cool.
Future: example videos made with Vidrio. I'll move some to the homepage.

People are resistant to the Mac App Store - everyone wants a .dmg!
Version 1.2 is now available for free, forever. Considering paid versions based on interest and uptake.
Version 1.3 is planned to have an input selector for users with multiple video sources.

About
I saw Tony Stark's holographic display and thought, "I want that." Vidrio is the closest thing that could run on a Mac. I used Vidrio for some screencasts, and got amazing reactions. Perfect for Zoom, YouTube, etc.

Love the idea for the app. Looks like you didn't even need a well known hunter to hunt your product for you, nicely done! I don't have much advice for what to do with the eyeballs, I wish I had that problem to be honest. Enjoy it I guess :P
Thanks! Ha, I didn't even know about correct procedure for Product Hunt until after I posted it!
It's a very cool product. well deserved.
Thanks!
Love that "indie" or honesty spirit
Pricing
Ha, yeh, maybe someday it will be delegated :D
You could make an offer for people coming from product hunt
That's a really nice idea, congratulations!
Any plans to port it to Windows?
Yep! That's probably the #1 question I've got so far :-) Stay tuned; I'm working on it ...
Had a quick look, very cool. Going to try it for sure. Well done with your #1 listing on Product Hunt
Nice one! I'd at least capture an email before being able to download it for free. When I was on PH my pricing model was that you could use the product offline for free - this meant I had a load of traffic that were trying it but were invisible to me and that I couldn't reach out to after the visitor numbers fell off about product updates or upselling.
Really great point. I'll look into it now. Recommendations for simplest/fastest email capture service?
@JamieGilman I took your advice and threw together a form - thanks for the suggestion! Emails rolling in now ...
Great! I tried it out, really nice work!
Just wanted to chime in that this is an awesome product. Congrats on getting #1 on PH.
This is an awesome product which is really simple and easy to use, great job Jim!
I love the landing page, it's really simple and delivers the message well. When I reached the bottom of the landing page, I wondered whether the download option should appear sooner which is when I realised that it is available in the top right. Perhaps it could be highlighted a bit better, in a different format or colour maybe?
Regarding the increased visibility (congrats), I'd suggest that you personally contact people who are using, visiting, liking, etc. to gain insight on user experience. This will help your understanding of what does/doesn't work well and learning specific use cases can help you (and your users) to share the product with a more specific target audience. All of this should ultimately increase the number of users!
Hope this is helpful to you :)
Hey @krupali, thanks for the compliment! 😊
Re landing page - great feedback, thanks! I've just moved the plans/pricing table up in the page, and changed the color of the CTA to a (rather questionable) yellow.
Re contacting on UX - I seem to be getting enough inbound comments/reports/etc at the moment from everyone trying it out 😅
That's great news - on the prompt landing page updates and the inbound feedback! Well done :)
Interesting product, I might have seen it in action earlier.
I would add some padding that would make the landing page a little cleaner.
Hey that's interesting - yeh it's been available for a couple years but I only just got around to marketing it!
Padding, good advice, I sometimes forget that space is not limited on the web :D
I love th idea. Congrats and good luck for what's next!
congrats!
Amazing app, have plans for support others OS?
Thanks! Windows next - in the works ...
