August 8, 2019 Plans for the Future

Returning visitors clearly show that the Vipassana.live meditation app provides real benefits to its users.

I think it's because of its gamified nature and a simple approach.

Vipassana.live activates the inner observer instantly and effortlessly, and without the need to have prior meditation knowledge or experience. Even one minute of being in the "observer mode" can give tremendous benefits, because it breaks an ongoing pattern of thoughts, and allows to look at things and experience them from a different, healthier and in some ways more powerful, mindset.

I have some plans for the next version of the app.

Your feedback is much appreciated.

January 1, 2019 Word-of-Mouse

The app started receiving returning visitors. Currently, on average 2-5 users are using the app every day.

This is great!

It means that the app was not only an interesting experiment but it actually works(!) and provides real value for its users.

It also means that the message about the app is spreading (still very slowly) by word-of-mouth.

It worked for me from the beginning, but subjective experience doesn't count. Now I have a real validation, because of returning visitors that use the app daily.

September 14, 2018 Soft Launch

Got some initial buzz, e.g. here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Meditation/comments/9uqva8/a_new_vipassana_based_meditation_app_i_made/

...but it didn't last, and because the keywords "meditation app" and "vipassana app" are too hard to compete on Google, the app was left without any visitors.

August 1, 2018 Vipassana.live idea conceptualization

Prior to this, I was practicing meditation for years, also have done a couple of 10 days Vipassana retreats.

Then found Vipassana for Hackers: https://github.com/deobald/vipassana-for-hackers/

...and was inspired to digitize Vipassana practice, which later became Vipassana.live
