October 23, 2020 TWO signed enterprise deals this week

I'm really not sure how they both managed to land in the same week, but there ya go! Although the smaller sales have definitely picked up over the past month, these 2 deals essentially double revenue to date (once the checks get here...)

There's still quite a bit of work to do to fully deliver on these, but these organizations will bring a lot of new eyeballs from big institutions over the next few months.

Word-of-mouth and "powered by" marketing are essentially our only lead channels right now, so CAC is insanely low and these should work out nicely!

September 25, 2020 Pushing out enterprise features

After a number of calls with larger possible customers, we settled in on some "must-have" features necessary to land enterprise customers, and started implementing them.

With these features in the pipeline and nearing completion, we started getting a lot more interest from larger customers! Although the payment cycles and paperwork will be a new challenge, the investment should increase our marketing exposure and help with margins.

August 24, 2020 Enabled try-before-you-buy

I was getting a lot of emails asking questions about the offering. It was pretty clear these were only the folks who REALLY wanted a good solution, so I was worried about how many people I was missing out on. I made a few changes to allow anyone to try it out as a "free demo" before purchasing.

After enabling this, both initial signups and paid accounts increased about 4x!

August 6, 2020 First paying customers

Landed paying customers at universities approximately a week after re-launching the site. One of them I had never even been in contact with prior to joining!

Seeing actual money in the door motivated me to improve the front page further and start planning out more informative videos and a sales process.

March 10, 2020 Built/launched a landing page for online posters

I realized that I'd miss a lot of science and grad students would miss a lot of updates if we went a whole year without any poster sessions.

The initial launch was more of a "community" page where people could submit their posters to a collective, public site. I had no intention of making money off of it (I didn't want to take advantage of a pandemic).
