April 21, 2025 Check out my open-source AI tool that creates Grafana dashboards from natural language!

Hey everyone, I built an open-source project called VizGenie that turns natural language into Grafana dashboards. It uses AI to auto-generate PromQL queries, build visualizations, and deploy them directly to Grafana.

I’d love if you could take a look at the GitHub repo here: https://github.com/vsion-x/vizgenie

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or feedback. Contributions are always welcome!

This is super cool, love the idea of bridging natural language with Grafana and PromQL. That’s the kind of leap that makes dashboards way more usable for non-dev teams.

Curious , what was the biggest challenge building the NL → PromQL part? Was it handling ambiguity in the user prompts, or figuring out how to structure the outputs for Grafana compatibility?

I’m building an AI tool in another space (chess coaching), and these kinds of translation layers are tricky but powerful. Congrats on shipping this!

Thanks so much! Really appreciate the encouragement.
Yep, exactly! Mapping vague queries to precise metrics and wrangling labels into clean PromQL were the toughest bits—glad it’s working smoothly now. Would love to hear about your chess tool!
