December 15, 2025 Six Months, Ten Ideas, One Decision

Over the past six months, I’ve been on a deep dive into modern app development and AI tooling: learning Xcode and Swift, experimenting with LangChain, building with agent-based coding (Claude Code), and completing several courses from DeepLearning.AI. Along the way, I prototyped and tested a whole range of app ideas. There are so many opportunities out there, but eventually, you reach that uncomfortable moment where you have to close all the other doors, pick one, and commit. Focus. Ship. Put something in users’ hands. That moment has now come.

💡 How I got here
While exploring the tech landscape, I evaluated more than ten AI-driven app concepts — from medication analysis in pharmacies to a podcast transcription and visualization tool, a recommendation-based sales app, an AI-assisted shopping assistant (even before ChatGPT 😉), a task-by-task learning app, and several others. I scored each idea on criteria like the clarity of value proposition, the speed to get to an MVP, the reachability of users, monetization confidence, and the founder–problem fit. And the winner — at least for now — is Voilo.

🎙️ Introducing Voilo
What is Voilo? A smart dictaphone app that lets you record your voice, automatically structures the content according to predefined columns, and writes it straight into a Google Sheet. Think of it as a fast way to log anything you can track: work activities, habits, sleep, gardening, expenses, ideas — whatever currently lives in your Google Sheets.
Why Voilo? Because I found it genuinely useful for myself. I already track parts of my professional life (e.g., time spent per project) and personal life (e.g., sleep, gardening) in Google Sheets. Even if there were no business at all, I would use this tool every day. That felt like a strong signal.

🙋‍♂️ I’m looking for beta testers
After early alpha testing with friends and family, Voilo is now stable enough to invite the first internal beta group of up to 100 users. You can subscribe here.

You’re a perfect fit if you are:
- an iPhone user,
- a Google Sheets user,
- someone who loves tracking (anything from habits to hobbies), or
- a voice-first person who prefers talking over typing.
If that sounds like you, I’d love your help.

Love this story. That “close all other doors and commit” moment is painfully real — and honestly, the way you evaluated ideas (founder–problem fit + actual daily usage) shows real maturity as a builder.

Voilo makes a lot of sense. Voice → structured data → Google Sheets is one of those ideas that feels obvious only after someone builds it. The fact that you’d use it even if it never became a business is a huge signal.

Also really respect the transparency around the journey: six months of learning, prototyping, killing ideas, and finally shipping. That’s the part people rarely talk about.

I’m in a similar phase myself just shipped PaperDock Pro on Indie Hackers, focused on helping founders move faster from ideas to something tangible — so seeing you push through and invite real users is genuinely motivating.

Wishing you a strong beta and some great early feedback. Looking forward to seeing where Voilo goes 🚀
