July 8, 2019 Reached 1000 users signed up

There has been a new influx of users, which finally got us over 1000 users on VR Anime Society. While the majority does not yet attend our weekly sessions, it signifies that interest keeps on rising and there is still plenty of growth opportunities.

The goal still remains the same: convert more of people that signed up into VR session attendees, if not weekly, but to at least check a session once, as that usually all it takes to start coming more frequently

hey man, i checked out your twitter page and I think it's pretty cool man. what is your primary platform that you are using for the events?

    1. 1

I have built the whole tech stack myself. I plan to eventually spin out a separate event management software based on it, but for now I am just using it for this project. Or did you mean what we use to run the events? We use BigScreen, which is the main VR application for watching anything together in VR

March 18, 2019 VR Anime Society mentioned on Eric For President

We've received high praise from Eric For President, a YouTube VR channel, that covers wide range of topics in VR ecosystem.

This has resulted in a good traffic spike for the website as well as a lot of new members joining our official Discord server.

December 10, 2018 Guest post for The Ghost Howls blog

For the past 2 months, I've been writing a comprehensive blog post looking at the Anime VR landscape, both in Japan and the rest of the world. I've ended up with a concise post that I am quite proud of. It was made a guest post for The Ghost Howls blog, which is a fairly large VR focused blog.

November 10, 2018 Donations are live

As VRAS approaches 1 year anniversary and as we continue to grow, I thought it was an appropriate time to introduce the ability to donate. Running a website is not free as you'd expect and at the moment I am paying around ~20£ (30$) monthly for various services. And I am not including some of the miscellaneous expenses... This number will continue to increase as we grow in numbers and as I introduce more features.

I've been thinking of various ways to support the website as we grow and I have a couple of ideas that I will be exploring, but one thing is gonna remain the same:

No ads on the website. I hate them. You hate them. So I will never introduce them to the website.

So there is now a new Support button, where you can donate from $1 to $20. I am also planning on having the ability to donate monthly, akin to Patreon and possibly with the similar tier system so those of you who donate monthly will get some perks/goodies/ which will be decided at a later stage.

About

I wanted to get involved with VR industry but lacked skills necessary to build a VR app or game. So instead, I've decided to utilise my web dev skills and build the first VR anime community online.
