November 16, 2020 Added Zapier integration

I wanted to empower users with what they wanted to do once a user signed up. If they wanted to trigger an email to the user they could do that or if they wanted to get notified on slack or export data into spreadsheets/Airtable Zapier could enable all that. I plan to build native integrations for others in the future but Zapier helps close the gap for those till then.

The integration can be found here

November 14, 2020 Finished MVP

It took me a couple of weekends, but I'm finally done building the minimum viable product for Waiting list. I coded the whole thing in Java since that's what I'm the most comfortable with and with Vue which I just got started with. I'm excited to start talking to customers and see what they think about the product so far!

Looks clean, will sign up to give it a try. One big red flag : looking at your landing page does not clearly communicate what it does or how it works...a final implementation screenshot would help tons. Also the pricing section leaves me with questions...

I saw that you signed up. Did you have trouble logging in to your account? Verifying your email?

no, no problem with that. but once i'm logged in i have no idea what i'm doing or what i'm supposed to be doing haha 😅

Hmm, Thanks. I think I should be adding some onboarding flow. Thanks again :)

No worries, any time - good luck!

Thanks a lot. Appreciate the feedback. Yeah, I am considering redesigning the landing page. Not sure how I should start with redesigning though. It would be helpful if you could elaborate on the pricing section aspects. The general idea with the product is to keep it free for the most part, but charge $$ for any custom features that someone would be interested in.

Sure thing. I'll be fairly direct here, hope you don't take it personally! (it's just my style)

The design is fine and simple, it's mostly the content that is lacking, it's too general, you're basically asking the user to guess at what your product might do, instead of showing visually and telling them - I guess I'd start with thinking about what your unique selling point is and build around that. Think about your target customer, who they are and what they need. For example, I'm not a coder, so putting a piece of code as your only visual confuses me big time (maybe i'm not in your target market, which is fine, except your top header is "Build your audience before you launch", which does not have a tone or message addressed to devs)

As for the pricing section, gotcha, in that case I'd emphasize way more that it's totally free : "forever free for everyone", and then have a smaller thing for the "contact us for paid custom features" part, although I gotta say I don't even understand what custom features that could be, maybe some examples would be helpful. This sentence Simple Pricing you and your team can afford doesn't really belong, because 1) it's free so of course it's affordable, and then 2) even for the paid parts, you don't list any prices, so no idea what affordable means.

        Hope this helps!

@denisjlin Thanks a lot for the feedback. Your feedback is really helpful, I'll be more mindful on this when I redesign the landing page. :)

About

It should be simple to collect email from users who are interested in your product before a launch and provide users with an incentive to share the product with others. Waiting list does just that.
