Your smarter way to watch

I’ve been working on an app called WatchSmart for quite a while now. It started because I was getting fed up of opening Netflix, scrolling for ages, then going onto Prime or Disney and doing exactly the same thing.
Half the time I’d spend longer looking for something than actually watching it 😂
So I thought there must be a better way of doing it.
WatchSmart puts your streaming services together and tries to actually learn what you like. You swipe through films and shows, save the ones you like, skip what you don’t and tell it what you’ve already watched. The idea is that it gets better the more you use it rather than just showing everyone the same trending stuff.
There’s quite a bit more built into it now but the recommendation side is the bit I’ve spent the most time trying to get right.
I’ve finally got it running externally on TestFlight and I’m looking for people who haven’t seen any of the development to give it a go.
I’m not really looking for people to tell me it’s good either 😂 I’d rather know what’s confusing, what doesn’t work, if the recommendations are rubbish or if there’s something that would stop you using it again.

Still plenty I want to improve but it feels good finally getting it into people’s hands.

The recommendation side seems like the real product here, not the aggregation.
Curious whether early testers notice the recommendations getting meaningfully better with use, or whether the value is already there on day one.
Yeah that’s pretty much where I see the main value as well. The aggregation makes it easier having everything in one place, but the main thing I’ve been working on is getting it to actually learn the individual user.
It starts with onboarding to give it an initial idea of your taste, then saves, skips, watched titles and feedback continue changing the recommendations. I’m testing that quite heavily at the moment because I want the difference after 20/50/100 interactions to actually be noticeable rather than just saying it
Yeah exactly, that’s what I’m trying to prove now. The biggest issue I’m having at the moment is actually getting enough testers before launch. I want to get real people using it so I can see how the recommendations change at 20/50/100 interactions and improve the system before putting it out properly.
Friends and family only get you so far, so getting completely new users with different tastes is probably the main thing I’m struggling with right now.
