April 2020 Finished MVP

I finished the MVP which allows businesses to create both public rooms that are available to everyone on their team, as well as private rooms that require invitations.

These rooms are meant to replicate physical spaces versus representing a one-time meeting and can be used for general "water cooler talk", 1:1 discussions, periodic talks with specific team members, and of course, recurring meetings.

The service is available on MacOS and Windows with Linux support coming soon and is in an invite-only beta.

March 2020 Came up with my idea

I came up with the idea after seeing countless teams and businesses share their tips for remote work and saw a common thread of leaving a Zoom meeting open all day for background chat.

I realized businesses were trying to re-create the benefits for all being in the same physical location and the natural ambient conversation that encourages, but with software that was never designed for that purpose.

About

I'm working on Water Cooler because more and more teams are transition to remote work, while relying on software meant for meetings. We take hosts and codes out of the equation and facilitate more natural conversation.
