June 17, 2021 Launched v3 of WeatherGO, built with SwiftUI

I wanted to learn SwiftUI so I decided to redesign WeatherGO and rebuild it w/SwiftUI.

It was a challenging, but fun, rebuild. Got waylaid a little during COVID, but finally released a version I am proud of.

Another nice surprise along the way, I crossed the $100 MRR threshold. Upwards and onwards!

June 30, 2020 100 Subscriptions!

I switch my app from paid to freemium/subscription based last year. I gained a lot more traction, got better reviews and more paid users.

It's nice that once I let people use the app with the free tier, they were more likely to pay for it. I think I am on the right path with it and I am going to try to level it up again this next year.

Nice! Was thinking about offering a fremium/subscription based pricing on an app I’m about to launch as well!

That is really cool : how did you promote the app?

Did a product hunt launch. I experimented with paid ads (FB and Apple Search, dabbled with Snap), but didn't see any real returns. Been doing ASO as well, which has worked OK, but I can definitely improve that. I would like to try and get some press/reviews as well.

About

I am an American expat living in Berlin (with an English GF) and a traveler. Weather small talk was confusing for me and switching between C & F in apps was not easy, so I decided to build this app.
