With Christmas literally round the corner - we just hit over 300 subscribers to our beta. We're excited... like really excited because just 3 months ago our product was just a vision and a prototype! Finally some hard work over the last 6 weeks on social media and other channels has paid off!

After 3 months of remote meetings, rejected messages and emails, a few masked personal encounters... we finally closed our seed round at $1.3M USD giving us a healthy runway to go and build our team... and make that vision a reality! Here are our three takeaways from this time:

1: People who fund companies are busy. Don’t take it to heart; they aren’t ignoring you.

2: Your deck (even after trimming all the fat or maybe especially then) will need explaining — especially to people outside of your network.

3: Contrary to what most people do — talk to as many people as you can about your idea. Talking to people will bring you much more than just potential investment.

Our founder, Emmanuel Lefort came up with the idea of Weavernest. Though a brilliant one, we needed to validate the idea with research and by speaking to our target users. We underwent a 6-week process by which a consultancy was commissioned to interview users, identify their pain points, ideate on features and build a prototype of the solution. Following this, we built out our pitch deck and set off on the journey to get funding!
